Development history of fountains
Fountain has long existed in nature, and its unique style adds to the beauty of the earth. It is a charming landscape. The beauty of natural fountains is that they are mostly in the wilderness, and their ejections are not ideal. Some are full of stinky sulfur smell, and some are full of sand and stone, which greatly spoil the scenery. Later, people used the principle of pressure spray to choose the ideal location, shape and height, and built artificial fountains, which brought infinite vitality to the city and garden.
Fountains have a history of at least 2000 years in China. According to the relevant records in the Book of Han Dynasty, there were not only fountains, but also bronze dragons, bronze immortals holding cups and other artistic forms at that time. Water flowed out of the Longkou and immortals cups. In the Tang Dynasty, the fountain in the imperial soup pool of Huaqing Palace in Chang'an was like a lotus in the rain and lifelike. In the Jin Dynasty, a fountain was built on the Qiongdao Island in the North Sea with a water wheel to carry water. In the Ming Dynasty, the water used in the fountain of the Forbidden City was donkey cart water, which was called "five donkey carts". According to Xu Xiake's Travels, there were also fountains in Nanjing. The description of the fountains shooting straight up from the pond, with water vapor flowing in the wind, showed that the fountains at that time were quite beautiful.
In 1891, the Swiss watchmaker built an artificial fountain in the center of the Lake Geneva near the exit of the Rhone River. The fountain shot 130 meters high at the speed of 193 kilometers per hour, equivalent to the height of a 44-story building, making a sensation. In 1970, the "Captain Cook Memorial Fountain" in the center of Griffin Lake in Canberra, Australia, sprayed at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour and a height of 137 meters, setting a world record for the height of the artificial fountain. It is said that the fountain built on Lake Lemon in Geneva has set a new world record, with a water column as high as 145 meters. From a distance, it looks like a long sword piercing the sky.
Today, fountain technology is not only widely used in landscape construction and urban environmental beautification, but also greatly developed in color and pattern. Various kinds of fountains appeared.
